Administrative Coordinator

We are a local firm located in Guelph, serving South-Central Ontario since 1986.  We have continually grown and expanded, along with our clients, based on a philosophy of close working relationships and delivering a high degree of personal and dedicated service. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Coordinator to join our team.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Periodically review client list to anticipate when files will be brought into the office and to contact clients about their year end files as approved by the Relationship Partners
  • Keep record of all client year end work that comes into the office by maintaining control lists
  • Assist in assigning year end work to staff via discussion and approval with appropriate relationship partners and consideration of needs and abilities of individual staff persons
  • Track year end work assigned to staff and updating relationship partners on any issues and progress
  • Support partners’ administrative work by making phone calls, writing letters and other duties as assigned
  • Support partners’ client relationship work by making phone calls, booking appointments, writing letters, assistance in the management of special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Track special assignments given to staff or other partners by the Senior Tax Partner
  • Prioritize tasks and maintain effective communication with partners to resolve any overlapping or conflicts in assignments
  • Support finalization of accounting files by performing quality checks and archiving
  • Set up and assist clients with use of portal for transfer of data
  • Track CPA student hours and requirements
  • Assist in the collation and copying of personal tax returns and booking appointments during personal tax season
  • Assist in covering front desk reception as needed
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time

 

For this position we require:

  • University Degree/College Diploma in Business or Office Administration  
  • 3-5 years of office coordination experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional organization skills and the ability to manage your time effectively and prioritize
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively
  • High degree of sensitivity to the importance of confidentiality and discretion
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in your work

Senior Accountant

We are looking for a qualified Senior Accountant who has experience with servicing owner manager businesses and has an in depth knowledge of ASPE.  This is a career-building position. 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • File review
  • Client relationships
  • Business valuations
  • Cash flow budgeting
  • Corporate and personal tax planning
  • Preparation of personal tax returns
  • Financial projections and forecasts
  • Special engagements as needed

 Requirements:

  • Accounting designation – CPA
  • Successful completion of the CBV program would be an asset
  • Ability to manage client relationships well
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong proficiency in working with MS Office, Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep
  • Experience in preparing Canadian personal and corporate tax returns
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Minimum of 3-5 years post qualification experience in a Public Accounting Practice
  • Leadership qualities
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Desire to advance within the firm
