Dennis is closely involved with our clients in all aspects of professional accounting and business advisory services. He advises owner-managed businesses and other professionals on a broad range of business and financial matters including tax, mergers, acquisitions, real estate, and contract negotiations. Dennis also provides services relating to matrimonial and estate matters. Dennis founded Weiler & Company in 1986 and has over 30 years in public practice.
Dennis is a current member of the mgi North American Advisory Committee, and supports the successful timely completion of international assignments.
Dennis successfully completed the CICA In-depth Tax Course. He obtained his B.A. (Economics) from University of Guelph in 1972 and his CA designation in 1975.
Martha’s focus is delivering a wide range of tax planning and tax advisory services to Weiler & Company’s business and personal clients. She pro-actively provides tax advice and planning for clients regarding mergers, acquisitions, and re-organizations. Martha consults on non-resident matters including US tax requirements and returns. Her experience also includes accounting, finance, and business advisory services.
Martha obtained her CA designation in 1990 and completed the CICA In-depth Tax Course in 1993. She was accepted into STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and also received her CPA in 2000. She achieved her B.A. (Honours Management Accounting Studies) from the University of Waterloo in 1987.
Lori provides accounting and auditing services to a wide variety of clients. She is involved in many aspects of business advisory services provided to owner-managed businesses and non-profit organizations, including business valuations, contract negotiation, real estate matters, and lease reviews. Lori has over 15 years experience in public practice.
Lori obtained her B.A. in Honours Chartered Accountancy Studies at the University of Waterloo in 1993 and her CA designation in 1995.
Dan provides computer and software consulting, training, and support services to owner-managed businesses, other accounting firms, and governmental organizations. Dan has over 30 years experience in public practice. Dan’s experience includes the development and implementation of computerized audit techniques for Chartered Accounting firms, as well as project management for various organizations. Dan’s involvement with information technology extends to private industry, having held an executive position with a key player in the computer distribution channel.
Dan obtained his CA designation in 1977 and holds a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation. He obtained his B.Sc. (Computer Science) degree from the University of Toronto in 1973.
Michael is responsible for the delivery of audit and accounting services to a large variety of clients. In addition, he supervises the bookkeeping functions for various clients, and provides detailed reporting of investments for others. Michael has experience with most of today’s Windows programs and accounting software packages. Michael leads in the customization and related training of the CaseWare/CaseView working paper package for Chartered Accounting firms across Ontario.
Michael obtained his CA designation in 1998 and completed his B.A. in Honours Chartered Accountancy at the University of Waterloo in 1993.
Fred continues to be active as a consultant to Weiler & Company clients. Fred provides audit, accounting, investigation and due diligence services to private sector and government clients. Fred has several years experience in private enterprise, including the manufacturing and chemical sectors. He held various positions including President, Chief Financial Officer, General Manager, and Controller. As a former partner and senior manager at a national CA firm, Fred had responsibility for audit and accounting, insurance claim and litigation support, business advisory services, and investigations.
Fred obtained his CA designation in 1967 and has practiced in London, Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Guelph.
Paul provides accounting and auditing services as well as both personal and corporate tax services for a variety of our clients.
Paul obtained his CA designation in 2003. He is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University's Accounting program (2000) and also obtained a B.A. at the University of Western Ontario (1999).
Lisa provides a variety of corporate and personal tax services for our clients. In addition, she performs various accounting services with a focus on compliance and reporting for investment holding companies. Lisa has enjoyed working with the team at Weiler & Company and our clients for the past 10 years.
Lisa is a graduate of both the University of Guelph and Wilfrid Laurier University. She obtained her CA designation in 2005 and has completed the CICA In-depth Tax Course. She is currently enrolled in the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Diploma Program and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
When not working, Lisa is a Board Member for a local not for profit. She enjoys spending time with her children, reading, and travelling.
Jane provides accounting and auditing services to a variety of clients. She was formerly a Senior Financial Analyst with a major insurance company where her responsibilities included ensuring compliance to domestic and international accounting standards. In addition, she spent several years in public practice with a national CA firm.
Jane obtained her CA designation in 1991 and her B.Sc. from McMaster in 1986. You may recognize Jane’s name as she was a medallist in the 1984 Olympic Games and the 1986 World Rowing Championships.
Rachel provides accounting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for our clients. Rachel achieved her CA in 2007. Rachel has a B.A. from McMaster and a Diploma in accounting from Wilfrid Laurier.
Working at Weiler & Company has provided Rachel with experience in providing a wide array of services to clients. She has been involved in providing accounting and assurance services to a variety of clients, including owner managed businesses, not-for-profit entities and Ontario Internal Audit Services. Among the services she routinely performs are:
Assurance and general accounting;
Assurance, inspection and monitoring services for Ontario Internal Audit;
Bookkeeping;
Preparation of financial statements; and
Preparation of corporate and charity tax returns.
Shamendree has joined us from South Africa where she completed her B.Com (Hons) and received her CA(SA) designation. She attained her Canadian CA designation in 2008.
Shamendree had experience in South Africa in both small local and larger international accounting firms and brings this knowledge to our practice. With her skills from abroad she adds to our experience in different markets.
Shanna is the most recent Chartered Accountant in the office having succesfully attained her designation in 2009.
Shanna has experience now with a full range of professional assignments. Her contribution on everything from personal tax compliance through to not-for-profit auditing has been extremely effective.
David is currently pursuing his Chartered Accountancy designation. At Weiler & Company, David is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and corporate tax returns at the audit, review, and compilation level for small to medium sized owner-managed businesses that span the service, retail, and manufacturing sectors. David has received additional training in the area of investment holding companies and is interested in expanding his knowledge of this subject in addition to the field of business valuations.
David obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science (Electrical Engineering) and Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from Queen’s University in 2005. He completed his Diploma in Accounting at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2008. David has been lucky to experience the informal education of travelling much of the world. As well, he is an avid fan of almost any sport, and particularly enjoys participating in skiing, golf, basketball, and hockey.
Brian performs accounting and audit work on many different clients. He previously worked in the financial sector for several years before joining the firm in 2008.
Brian is currently pursuing his CA designation in his role as a CA Student. He earned his B.Comm at McMaster University in 2008.
At Weiler & Company Ahmad is responsible for various year-end engagements ranging from compilations to audit work on various clients belonging to different types of industries. Besides performing accounting work he is also responsible for preparing corporate tax returns.
He graduated with a Bachelors of Commerce from Ryerson University in 2008. As a CA student at Weiler & Company he is currently pursuing his CA designation. Prior to joining Weiler & Company, he was involved with a private wholesale/retail business. When out of office he enjoys watching & playing basketball. He is a huge fan of the Toronto Raptors.
Sonya graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in 2007. She is responsible for preparing a variety of review and compilation engagements.
Prior to joining Weiler & Company, she worked in the financial and insurance industries in various supporting roles. In her spare time she enjoys running and reading various accounting and business blogs.
She is currently pursuing her CGA designation.
Ryan is a CA student who currently performs compilation and review engagements in addition to preparing corporate taxes for our owner managed businesses.
Ryan obtained his B.Comm from the University of Toronto – Mississauga in 2009. Ryan has also spent some time playing Division II tennis for Lake Superior State University. Aside from running and playing golf, Ryan will often immerse himself in various video games. Ryan is currently pursuing his CA designation.
Jenna is currently pursuing her Chartered Accountancy designation. At Weiler & Company, she is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and corporate tax returns for a wide variety of clients.
Jenna obtained her Bachelor of Science (Applied Economics and Management) from Cornell University in 2008. She was also a member of the varsity softball team.
Logan attends Brock University as an accounting student in a co-operative work study program.
Sandi is an experienced Office Administrator and also manages our firm’s reception. In keeping with Weiler & Company’s philosophy of personal service and attention, you will always be greeted in person, whether you are contacting us by phone or visiting our office. Sandi is usually a client’s first contact each time they call or visit Weiler & Company. Apart from reception, Sandi manages the office correspondence and communication and is an excellent liaison — assisting us all in delivering our clients the most prompt and professional service possible.
Beverly administers the firm’s internal accounting, client billings, and manages various administrative functions. Her support and assistance helps ensure our client accounts and files are current and accurate. Her administrative support assists all staff members to consistently deliver quality and professional service to our clients.
